Basketball Fan Code of Conduct

Welcome to our team community! As supporters of our girls basketball team, we all play a part in creating a positive, respectful, and fun environment for our players, coaches, referees, and fellow families. This Fan Code of Conduct is designed to ensure everyone can enjoy the game and model great behavior for our young athletes.

We kindly ask all fans—parents, siblings, relatives, and friends—to follow these simple expectations:

What We Expect From Our Fans:
  • Cheer with positivity. Encourage great effort, good sportsmanship, and teamwork. Celebrate everyone’s successes—on both teams.

  • Respect all players, coaches, referees, and fans. Our girls are watching—let’s be role models in how we treat others.

  • Keep the energy family-friendly. Refrain from using loud, negative, or disrespectful language at games.

  • Let the coaches coach and the referees ref. Shouting instructions or arguing with officials takes away from the learning and enjoyment of the game.

  • Follow facility rules. Be mindful of where you sit or stand, avoid blocking views, and help keep gym spaces clean.

  • Support good sportsmanship. This includes helping kids shake hands after games, win or lose.

  • Stay off the court. Only players and coaches are allowed on the court during games and warm-ups.

  • Communicate concerns calmly and respectfully. If an issue arises, please approach your coach or team manager after the game—not during play.

What’s Not OK:
  • Disruptive or aggressive behavior toward referees, coaches, players, or other spectators

  • Foul or inappropriate language

  • Arguing with or yelling at officials or coaches

  • Negative comments aimed at kids (on either team!)

  • Harassment or intimidation of any kind

  • Posting inappropriate, hurtful, or disrespectful content online about players, coaches, or the league

Online & Social Media Conduct

We love seeing proud parents share team moments online—but we ask that digital behavior reflects the same respect we show at games. Please avoid posting:

  • Negative or critical comments about children, coaches, or officials

  • Photos or videos of other children without parent permission

  • Inappropriate or offensive language, images, or jokes

Consequences

Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • A verbal reminder or warning

  • Being asked to leave a game or facility

  • Possible restriction from future games or events

We’re building more than basketball players—we’re building character, confidence, and community. Thank you for helping us create a supportive, safe space where our girls can grow and thrive.

Let’s be loud, proud, and respectful—Go Team!
